New Vendor Treasures at the Sevierville Farmers Market: May 31, 2019.

For the first time in a while, I was able to arrive early to the downtown Sevierville Farmers Market and linger. It was not very hot and turned out to be such nice weather. We were all ready for a stroll through the market.

I drove down Bruce Street, but usually park in the public lot on Main Street and Court Avenue.

I like this large sign on Main Street. You will pass it as you go on to Dolly Parton Parkway.

Next, I like to turn left on Court Avenue and cut through the arcade. This is a good shortcut to the market from Court Avenue and the courthouse area.

By 10:15, the market was bustling with activity.

I started on the east (right side) of the market and ran into a new vendor who creates her own skin products. The table had such a pretty presentation.

IMG_6334I always need lip balm so it was nice to be able to test the product right there. The vendor will give you a popsicle stick to make it easier. She uses essential oils in the beeswax so the balm is nicely smooth and soothing.

When you can’t decide, just buy both choices!

My sister Suzanne would like these T-shirts.

A nice, clear sound invigorated the market from this Dandridge based D.J.

Next, I found a new vendor who was raising money for a Gatlinburg non-profit.

They have been gifted a super nice roaster, pictured in the upper left of the collage. The rescue group will give away roasted nuts for a donation—and $5 a bag is a bargain. I bought a bag and intend to use them on salads this summer.

Samples are always a good idea at a farmers market so I was hooked after that. Very good!

We talked about the animals currently in their care and the work done by the rescue group. Many are seniors and hard to adopt pets. I will try to donate to Hidden Hills Animal Rescue each week that I see them at the market. They hope to be there more this summer.

Hidden Hills Animal Rescue features a ‘pet of the week’ in this local publication. You can see the web address above.

It is always interesting to see what products are available from the Crust and Crumb.

It was hard to walk by these pastries because they looked divine!

Such nice temperatures in the low 80s.

If there an anchor to the downtown Sevierville farmers market, then it would have to be the stand from Henderson’s Produce. I often shop at their store at 705 Eastgate Road in Sevierville, but the downtown market is even more convenient.

By 11:00 a.m., it was time for me to meet a colleague for lunch at Courthouse Donuts. There was not a parking space to be found on Bruce Street— a good economic sign.

IMG_6369The new (and wildly popular) Graze Burgers restaurant was ready for lunch service. I am sure that it got busy by noon.

IMG_6434

Next time, I must schedule extra time for a coffee at Crust and Crumb on Bruce Street.

Courthouse Donuts has the best windows downtown. Have a coffee and watch the traffic around the courthouse as you wait for your order.

We had the blue plate special, a tuna melt, and enjoyed the view.

I welcome the Friday farmers market in downtown Sevierville and look forward to finding more treasures from the vendors. For summer, it must be one of the best ways to get out and about in Sevierville.

See you next Friday!
